I have attempted to download and install the plugin “Cut List 4” on a MacBook running Snow Leopard OS. When trying to load the extension there is no appropriate file that is executable. It is as if the download file has nothing but script files. Is there something wrong with my system or is the download missing something? Anyone think they can help? Dave R.?

There's nothing wrong with either the downloaded file or your computer. there's not supposed to be any sort of executable. The download contains only those files needed to actually make the plugin work. Installing it simply involves copying the files (while maintaining the file structure to the Plugins folder. I wrote about installing plugins from ZIP files in a blog post awhile back.
In a nutshell, download the ZIP file to somewhere such as the Downloads folder. Double click on the file. A new folder with the same name will be created. Open that folder and select the contents. Copy them.
Navigate to the Plugins folder which should be Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins. Make sure you are at this plugins folder and not one under your user account, Paste the files there. You should have a file called cutlist.rb and a folder called cutlist. Open SketchUp. You should find 'Cutlist' under the Plugins menu.
If you've already attempted to install the files and haven't maintained the correct file structure I would suggest that you just delete the files and start over.
If you still have problems drop me an e-mail.

That works.
Thanks Dave, that worked just fine. I was unaware of all the steps involved to install a plugin.
