I am going to be installing vinyl chair rail on sheetrock with metal studs.What would be the best way to fasten this? Thanks Bogart

The best way is to install backer board behind the sheet rock and nail to that. Second best is to use liquid nails and double toe nail with brads at opposing angles. These just catch in the drywall but will hold until the glue grabs. It's best to finish up with a fine bead of white lightning caulk in the corners top and bottom of the rail. This will keep everything in place and cover any waviness in the walls.
