I’ve noticed that Grizzly has eliminated or cutback on their advertising in the popular woodworking magazines. Does anyone have any info or am just crying wolf

I'm not sure your premise is correct. I'm still seeing the usual Grizzly ads.

? "Crying wolf"- To keep asking for help when you do not need it, with the result that people think you do not need help when you really need it.
I don't usually look at the ads so have no idea if this is true or not.
Some supposition, however:
Over COVID a lot of the 60-75 year olds still in work decided to call it quits, retire and take up hobbies like woodworking. They were cashed up with pension funds and started spending, just as workers in factories started getting sick.
This has resulted in a massive increase in demand, and in order to ensure supplies, many retailers have ordered 3 containers of machines where they previously ordered one. Those orders are now coming close to fulfilment, some 18-24 months after they were placed.
Manufacturers have plenty to do, shortages of supply are rife. Even Felder has had a 1 year lead time on some bigger machines and they don't come cheap.
Why spend on advertising to stimulate an already busy market? They will need that budget in a couple of years when retailers find they have bought tons of machines but the market has dropped.
If I were a tool company, I'd be busy working some spanking new innovation like VFDs, bigger motors, new safety features and new colours into my lines so that the orders keep on coming.
I live about 2 miles from Grizzly's international headquarters and showroom and stop by on a regular basis to pick up tools and supplies. Nothing has changed that I can see and I've noticed no shortage of inventory.
The supply chain is still a train wreck. I work at a retail woodworking store and we are currently quoting delivery dates as far out as March 2023 for several manufacturers. We don't handle Grizzly. Advertising doesn't pay if you have no product to sell.
Maybe they've decided advertising in the declining magazine market wasn't paying off. Harbor Freight made the decision to cut off their magazine paper ads last year, as I recall.
