I have been looking at a stash of pine with an idea to use it as paneling for my workshop. It is 4/4 by 12″ wide by 16′ long boards, air-dried, with plenty of knots. The asking price is $0.75 per board foot. I am looking to buy 1000 board feet. Is this a reasonable price?
Also, the same person is offering 1000 board feet of air-dried poplar, mostly clear, for $1.00 per board foot. Is this reasonable?

Compared to the San Francisco bay area thats a pretty good price. I guess the question would be are there to many knots. Also the Poplar sounds like a good price as well.
Thanks

If the wood has been treated well and is in good condition, those are good prices. Not a steal, but good.
