Is this Mathieson or Noris smooth infill?
Very nice old infill plane I think in beech wood with nice unusual grain shapes. I think it’s a mathieson as the iron cap has the name and the design seems to fit. However, the iron is a Sorby. It would be great if someone could nail the actual make of this infill plane for me. I attached a photo here. Thank you.

To be frank, I think it looks horrible. Probably home-made and best used as a doorstop.
Thank you Waterhead for your comment and noted.
Looks like a Frankenplane... assembled in a lab from the body parts of other recently-desceased planes.
How does it work? I have owned ugly planes that functioned nicely.
I think it’s a cool old plane and looks like a fun project to revive it. Not sure of the brand but Good luck!

I think it looks pretty cool. I probably would take a rasp to the wooden pieces to make more comfortable to use. If I could fettle and get it working right, it would be a keeper!
