I always think braggarts need to tone it down a little, but today I can’t help myself. Gives me a new appreciation for other Gloaters!
Here’s what’s in my workshop right now!
It took five hours to uncrate and assemble and another four hours to dial it in, wire it, duct the DC and clean and wax the table.
Sorry.
I had to do it.
Gloat, I mean.
Best regards,
Don

OK, now wipe that silly grin off your face and MAKE something with your new toy. Post a picture of your work and then we will all know if your gloat is really worth it. SawdustSteve
steve,
Your reply is appropriate. I think the most important thing that will be made with the 'new toy' (Can you really speak of something so important as a toy?) - is TIME.
Just yesterday, making a drawer front, I cut it to size on the saw and then went directly to the sanding center to touch it up. Formerly, on the ShopSmith I've been using for more than 25 years, I would cut something and then NOT sand it until later. The table saw function on the SS has to be disabled to slide the motor over to the belt sander and make it go. That's not terrible, and I've made do with it for a long time, but it does slow one down.
The other thing that arises is accuracy. The table saw function on the SS is notoriously inaccurate. Forcing accuracy from it took TIME.
Nevertheless, I will post photos of the actual THINGS I make as well.
Best regards,
DonI'm not the man I used to be, but then I never was!
