I was viewing the DVDs of Andy Rae’s, Drawers & Doors. There were two items in his shop I’m interested in. I was wondering if anyone could help me so I can build my own. Because they were not the main focus of the DVDs, I didn’t get a real good, close look.
- He had a articulating task lamp attached to a fixture that looked like he made. The fixture was attached (I think clamped) to his work bench. It looked like it could be relocated to different places on the bench. From what I could see the fixture looked pretty cool.
- While planning drawer runners, he used a bench stop that was located in the middle of the bench. The stop looked like it was about an inch or so wide, about 1/2 inch thick. When not in use they seem to be retracted so that they were flush with the bench surface. There were two of them, end to end in the center of the bench, with about an inch between them. The idea of making the stops seems pretty straight forward. Routing a slot in the bench top to put the stops in, in order to use them seems pretty straight forward. It’s how the stops are maintained at the appropriate height above the bench top while in use; and how they are held in place when not in use (flush with the bench top) which puzzles me. Any ideas would be appreciated.

These are DVD's you're watching and not on-line videos?? If, perchance, they are on-line videos, please post a link so we can find them. If the are DVDs, I guess you'll end up waiting until someone who also has them sees the post. Hope you get some response soon.
Yes, they are DVDs.
You might try contacting Andy directly. His Web site shows the e-mail address of [email protected].
thanks
