Would anyone have any information on the so-called puzzle boxes? Available designs or a good book to go to, website etc.? Something to get an amateur started down the path.
Just a little reason to spend some time with wood.

Can not help with Japanese puzzle boxes...
...but there are tons of Chinese puzzle boxes (and lot of other good stuff such as sung hua sharpening stones) in the curio section of the National Palace Museum in Taiwan.
