I’ve found a few references, photographs and rough drawings showing “twisted dovetails”, “compound dovetails”, “double twisted dovetails”, etc but I have yet to get some concrete design information on how to construct these dovetails.
One other name I’ve found is “nejiri arigata”
Does anybody have any specific information that I can get my hands on?

I checked my old FWW index for the first 100 issues.
Issue 57 on page 104 and issue 61 on pages 84 & 85.
I haven't dug out the issues to look at them so I can't tell you what they say.
Thanks,
I think I've seen issue 61 but I'll check out issue 57.
Here's a link to an online article I wrote on how to cut it. It's the same article BG pointed you to but not in Word format. Slainte.

I used this article as a guideline this weekend to make a first attempt. I think it takes more time to mark up the cut lines than it does to do the cuts.
Thanks for the reply and good article.
David Charlesworth's first book, "Furniture-making Techniques" has an article on making twisted dovetails also. It's a very good book.
Thank you. I will investigate...
Check your local library first for a "free" look at the book.

There is an old FW article by Alan Peters that shows you exactly how to layout and assemble the joint.
