Anybody tried that new Jawhorse I”ve seen advertised lately?

Not I. They look potentially useful, but I haven't been able to think of anything I do for which they would be more suitable than what I currently use.
jawhorse
Yeah, after a night of too much beer and tequila, I stumbled across the infommercial and was somehow impressed by how useful a tool the Jawhorse would be, especially for sheet goods..I managed to find my wallet and the credit card therein and made the purchase. As an added bonus, I got three free months of three magazines I usually don't read....the Jawhorse works as advertised but I have since built an outfeed table for my saw which lessened the need for this fantastic offer...I have used it when away from the shop and it has worked well....I just don't use it as much as I thought ...I did, however, learn to avoid infommercials when I've had more than a couple Belgians or shots of Tequila.....

Jawhorse
When I think about it, I have not more than half a dozen tools that I use as much as I thought I would when I bought them.
unused tools
that is true in my case as well, but the Jawhorse is the only one I was seduced by telemarketing with the aid of alcohol into buying....though I have to admit I was often nearconvinced by Vince into buying a ShamWow but the ad didn't last long enough for me to actually find my wallet....on occasion, while searching for something or cleaning my shop, I've run across a tool I forgot I had because it turned out I really didn't need although it seemed so handy at the time...that is not true for my chisels, handplanes or clamps....

Jawhorse
I was given both a jawhorse and a couple Shamwows a year ago. I use the Shamwows all the time. I've used the jawhorse twice. If you're drinking and buying stuff on TV, get the rags. I'll have to watch that jawhorse infomercial and see what it's supposed to be useful for.
To be fair, it is an effective portable vise. It has a reasonable site-work application. It's just sort of meaningless in my shop.
