Who owns a JDS multi router, I would like to hear your opinions on the good and bad (if there are any) aspects of this machine. I am looking to simplify the number of jigs I have for Tenon, Mortise and Dovetails etc. Would also like to correspond off line if anyone is open to that. I am located in Central Texas and would also love to see one in action as opposed to taking an expensive leap of faith decisions. I understand Mr. Marks thinks quite highly of this so I assume it is a “go to kind of machine”.

It is a well built fixture system. With a little imagination, it can be made even more versatile with custom tracer templates. I bought and paid for the unit by making 1000 special parts in Delran with a custom machined template. There is a ½" bearing on a guide arm for 2D tracing. You could probably replace it with a tracer ball for 3D but a third hand would be needed.
I have most of the templates except dovetails. I do use the round-end tenon and box joint templates a lot. The box joint template is very useful for evenly spaced groove applications by skipping template slots as needed.
There is no dust collection so you deal with the mess after or kluge something together. It is so versatile that it is hard to come up with a single dust collection strategy that works.
Setup is fast and accurate so it is not a big deal for one or two cuts. A dial or digital caliper is real handy for setting stops.
