The OEM miter fence for my table saw has got to go. Has any body ramped up through after market miter gauges up to this Mast R Slide? It seems well made but it would be great to hear from an actual user.
I found the specs a little confusing. Just how wide of a piece of sheet stock will it hold? Aside from the amount of table between the blade and the slider is it at all like using a true slider when cutting smaller sheet stock say 36″ square?

Hi Vic,
I have the Jessem Master slide. Although before I installed it on my table saw I decided to purchase a real sliding/ scoring table saw, so I still have it new in the box, as I no longer have need for it. I have tried it out at the Rockler Store and it is built very well and slides very smoothly. It will cross cut up to 36" and can be installed on either a left or right tilt table saw. I decided I wanted to be able to cross cut at least a half sheet of material so I bit the bullet and made the purchase of one of those fancy European saws. Oh and by the way are you the famous Vic Damone?

Danny, No, I'm the not at all famous Vic Damone. Congratulations on purchasing a real slider. I had the opportunity to use one last month and the sensibility of the machine was simply stunning to me. While I don't expect the Master Slide to compete I was hoping for thirty inches or so of crosscut capacity and a better miter.Vic
Vic: I have it and it seems to work just fine. Easy and broad adjustability. Have not cut much sheet material so can't comment on that particular but it is made to usual JessEm standards so should do everything in it's range well.

I have one and think it's really good for cutting sheet stock. I especially like it with the fence in the leading position. I do not like it at all for cutting short stock since the sliding table portion does not extend right up to the blade. I think a sled is much safer for the short stuff.
Don't have one, but I have a fully equipped Jessem router table, and by golly they make good stuff.
I do have a similar gizmo I got from Lee Valley, the 'Accu miter'

with the hold down, and it works real nice
Piccioni, Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for something with twice as much crosscut capacity as a typical miter fence in the slot. I was able to put my hands on the Mast R Slide at my local Rockler and it is indeed made well enough and with enough capacity for my needs. At another woodworking site someone picked one up for $250 so I think I'm going to try shopping around for a little while before I cave in for retail. Thanks for all your responses.Vic
Vic,
try the classifieds here at knots. Some guy was trying despeately to get rid of his (brand new) for a good price. Just didn't have the crosscut capacity I need, or I would have snatched it up.

Vic,
I still have my Jessem Master Slide if your interested, It's new in the box and I have the original receipt. I was kind of hanging on to it for a friend who wants it, but he still is looking for a table saw. I would like to sell it sooner than later so if your interested I'm asking $445.00 plus shipping. It's still under warranty as I purchased it late last Nov. I'm in San Diego so shipping shouldn't be too much.If you want it you could pay through Pay Pal. You don't need to have an account with Pay Pal to purchase as I have an account with them through E-bay. All I would need to do is send an invoice to your e-mail. Let me know!
Thanks,
Danny
