I need to replace my old bandsaw, primarily because I am doing more resaw work and also because the SWMBO said it’s time. <grin>
I have a lot of other Jet equipment and am leaning toward the JWBS-16. This is due, in part, to what I perceive as a good price/value unit. I’d like a unit with not less than 10″ resaw capability and enough power to handle the job of resawing hardwoods. I’ve reviewed several other manufacturers as well, but find myself drawn back to the Jet. Maybe it’s because the local Jet distributor is a friend.
Am I just having a brain cramp?
Do I need to be looking elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the Jet 18" band saw .If you can afford the extra expense is would be worth it,it comes with the fence & ball bearing guides the 16" does not.It has plenty of power to resaw oak, it will accwpt a 1.5 "blade .

I don't know if you are still in the market for a new bandsaw, but I have a Jet 18" that I am selling. I am in the Minneapolis area (mn) It's a couple of years old, but has new ball bearing guides, as well as the older euro guides, mobile base, and several blades.
Let me know if you're interested

Thanks for the offer, but I purchased the Grizzly GO513 several weeks ago. Interesting thing is, I posted this thread in Tool Talk thinking it would be on topic. After a couple of days of no response here, I re-posted in Knots and got a ton of information immediately. I guess there are a lot more folks in Knots than in Tool Talk.
