Jet 1642EVS or Grizzly G0632 experience
Does anybody have experience with the Jet 1642EVS lathe or the Grizzly G0632? These two 16″ x 42″ lathes look virtually the same in photographs and have the same specifications. Any comments, good or bad?
Thanks,

I bought my Jet 1642 EVS last April from the local Woodcraft (in Honolulu). I was brand new to turning and had just taken a basic bowl turning class at the store. I don't have too much to compare it with, but I must say I love my lathe. The Electronic Variable Speed is a great thing for a newbie. I also enjoy the capability to reverse the turning direction. The only other lathe I had used was the lathe in the bowl turning class. (I can't quite remember the brand, but it did have a swiveling headstock.) Obviously, there's no comparison between the two. BTW, I have yet to turn anything other than bowls (as that is my passion).
