Jeff,
Assuming its the older model style..with euro bearings...
About 6months ago they had a special on the 18" which many jumped on here..I missed it. I think the special was $799...without taxes or shipping of course. Maybe a few of those folks will chime in...

He said he bought it new for his shop a year ago, then retired
recently.
I don't know which type guides it has.
Can you remind me of the differances, so when I look at it I'll know.
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
Jeff,
The Euro guides were elongated on both sides of the the blade. This years model are bearing type..which I believe you can purchase and put on, however doing that may be totally unnecessary. I'm sure you can see the bearing type at the jet web site...so at least you'll know what they are not...
hey jeff- just bought one in october for 899.00 w/ the bearing guides ,fence, blade. i got it at woodworkers warehouse( taiwan import company). it was a one weekend deal. it's back to 1099.00. as far as the saw for the money it's a pretty good saw i just wish the trunnions were a little beefer. i think you have a deal there. goodluck
Thanks Bear.

hey, Jeff
bought mine about two years ago, and like it bunches. cost about a grand, new.
re-sawed a walnut log of about 10 inch diameter with a 3/4" re-saw blade, and had few problems, except i kept poppin my breaker cause of the eletrical load, i guess. i don't think you'll go wrong.
casey..
Thanks Casey
I bought one a few years ago and, its not bad for the money. However, The trunions are rediculously small,( picture elephant in ballet shoes) it's under powered and it's frame has a bit more flex than I would like. Also it's more difficult than it should be to change blades. It does, in spite of it all, work suprisingly well. $750.00 is probably a fair price.Allthough when I sell mine and get a bigger and uglier model, I would be really happy to get $750. for it.
Glendo.
I think I'll be picking it up this week.
Do you or anyone know if a larger motor could be added if necessary.
Jeff
I'm not an expert in that area, but I think the motor mount is specific to the bandsaw. It probably wouldn't be cost effective. Try ripping down both sides of the stock on the tablesaw, then cut the rest on the bandsaw. It's faster and saves wear and tear on your blades and saw.
