hi looking at getting a table saw and was considering a Jet jwts 10jf model, anybody have any experince with the jet saws or this model? Read the reviews on amazon and it appears to be a good saw for the money…… 524.69 at sears including 6% tax or 499.00 on amazon with a 100 rebate.
Thanks

I have the Old Blue version of this saw, and you're right -- for the money it's a real nice saw. The fence isn't going to out-shine a Beisemeyer, but then you're not paying for a Beis either, LOL!
The motor is strong. You might want to go to a link belt at some point, you'll get less vibration and noise, and a little more power. I adapted a Merlyn splitter to mine, as the stock splitter (as with most saws) was a pain in the a$$. I think Beisemeyer might make a splitter for this new model. The stamped steel wings are easy to add a router table to if you want.
Mine cuts clean and true, with plenty of power when using the appropriate blade for the task. Whatever you get, be sure to tune it up precisely before using it.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Thanks forestgirl....I looked at amazon again and I misread it the rebate offer (which is a 100 dollar rebate on a furture purchase, so I think I will run back to sears and order the saw, plus i wont have to schedule my work day to home when the saw is delivered from amazon.

I have the Jet and I love it. Have had it almost two years now, and have been very happy with it. I strongly recommend you get the model with the two cast iron wings, instead of the stamped steel. It's worth the extra cost. Makes the saw feel much more substantial. Be extra careful with the cast iron.....make sure you don't ever set a drink on it (coke can, etc.) or leave any type of moisture related item on it. Rust marks will appear which are a bear to try remove. I think I paid $599 for mine from Tool Crib/Amazon.
Good Luck,
Adam

Oh, one more thing.....
If there is one disadvantage to the Jet (and that goes for most contractor's saws) is that the motor hangs off of the back end. It really pust some limitations on storing the saw, especially if your shop is also the garage for your car.
