Jet JPS-10 1.75 HP 115V 30″ Proshop Tablesaw 725000K
Does anyone have any experience with this tablesaw or any of its current variations? I’m looking to upgrade from a 20-year-old Skillsaw and this one would seem to be a reasonable choice, especially since it’s currently on sale. Rollie Johnson gave it an outstanding review in the latest FWW, but it would be great to hear from someone who has used one for a while. I have a small garage shop with no access to 220 so I’m a bit limited in my choices. I’ve looked at Grizzly, Powermatic, Laguna and Rikon in addition to Jet. The big advantage for me with this saw is that minus the legs it should be light enough to install into the station in my mobile workbench where the Skillsaw is currently (with modifications to the workbench). There are very few online reviews, but most are positive. Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Larry

Sorry for the late response, Larry. If you haven't made your purchase yet, I recommend the Jet. I've had mine for several years and love it. There are a couple potential issues. You can't use the riving knife with some thin-kerf blades. The knife is not thin enough. I'm thinking of ordering a knife from Jet and having it ground down. Next, you can't find after market inserts so you will need to make up a jig to make your own. I do that anyway but many people don't. Lastly, I bought a 4x4 sheet of 1/4" plywood and veneered it with some smooth formica. I then used that to fill in the bottom of the saw (slanted to 1 side) and added a dust collection outlet and taped all the seams. That picks up most of the sawdust when hooked up to my 1250cfm dust collector.
