Has anybody actually seen in person Jet’s new Super Saw (JWSS-something)? This is the new saw that has the sliding table, the 1 3/4 hp motor, and is a hybrid cabinet/contractor type saw to compete with the DW. I am going to hold off on my TS purchase until I see one in person. Any comments?
Thanks

At the bottom left in the Search box type "Jet Supersaw" and hit enter. I would've copied a link here but explaining the search is easier.
Some WoodCrafts have them. The reviews have been mixed. Amazon has them w/ sliding table for $1200, if memory serves.
STCat,
Thanks for the reply. I had already done the search and read the posts you are referring. The usefull thread is from 9/4/02. I was wondering if anybody has anything more current now that it is October.
Thanks again

Scott,
I haven't read anything about that specific machine lately, but did read that Jet has plans to expand their product line to include a wide variety of accessories not currently available. Will be interesting to see what they introduce.

I saw one in Woodworkers Warehouse today, coincidentally. I thought the sliding table was kind of cheap, and it didn't slide very easily. That was the part I was most interested in. With a PM 66 and a Unisaw sitting right next to it, I guess it had tough competition. I also wasn't in the market for a saw, so I really only gave it a cursory once-over. Sorry I don't have any better info than that.
Be seeing you...
I mentioned this saw to one of the millwork guys on the job where I work. He said he had heard that there was some issue regarding the table sliding parallel to the blade. All I know is what he said - I've never even seen one of these beasties. But it would be something to check out before purchase.
