Great site guys, does anybody know of a jig for drilling the holes in a frameless mel cabinet for the adjustable shelves? The hinge plate could also be attached in these holes? If not, I guess I will have to make one.

The only jig I know of, off the top of my head, is supplied by Lee Valley. Its a bit pricey for my taste. (Wouldn't use it much). You can make one using anything you like. Pegboard seems to be popular. Tape off the holes you don't want to use to prevent mistakes.
Do a search on Eurodrill. They sell a jig or two which is compatable with the European system. The jig is relatively short, but works with most uppers and lowers,
Heres a URL from a local CDN site...but they are US made. Good tools. Phone em and you can talk to the president of the company too!!!

They have a drill which is like a self centering vix bit, and the bits are carbide tipped, either 1/4" or 5 mm.
I don't use them to locate holes for hinges though, cause I use the Blum Ecodrill system, which can easily locate hinges 4" OC from top and bottom of the door, so I keep my shelf holes between those areas.
The whole system is a tad costly, but not in the long run. You just wanna make sure you don't lose the drills in the bottom of a toolbox or whatever.
Hope that helps.

Where does one pick up the Blum jig?
I got mine from Richelieu Hardware here in Calgary. They are all across Canada, but not in the states. I think I've sold a half dozen of em for Richelieu while chatting with folks in line waiting for their orders to be brought up from the back. Blum stuff is mfgd also in the states, Minnesota methinks, so if you go tohttp://www.blum.com/that might lead you to a distributor in your area. If you want a more immediate response just find out the name of your local Blum wholesaler with a little yellow pages research. This jig is absolutely exquisite. has built in clamps, adjustable and lockable set back. With a simple little block jig added to it (make-it yerself) it will even bore the holes for corner hinges, where the hole goes outside the edge of the door. Will drill 5mmm holes for the plastic screw inserts, or just touching the wood with the bit gives you the centres for screws if you so prefer. It is costly, round 150ish us methinks by doing a quick currency conversion, and while some folks will undoubtedly compare it in utility to the drill press mounted 35mm bits, the first time you have to put 3 or 4 hinges in a 7' high door without balancing it on a drill press, you will be oh so pleased. I routinely bore MDF doors with a 9.6V cordless, The drill depth is adjustable so that you can use it for 5/8 material too. It's a good investment if you bore holes for Euro hinges.Good luck, it is on the market somewhere near you. FWW did a survey of machines for site boring holes a while back, so a review is likely there in the archives. Eric
