Most of my jigs are made out of poplar and/or plywood. Some from pine when that’s what I had and a few w/melamine. Hardware as useful. Sound about right? Tend to use them for awhile, even the ones I thought were one-timers. That’s why I try not to use pine, wears down.

Make it out of pine..
If it works.. AND you need to keep it.. Then use that expensive 7 ply plywood to make a 'keeper'...
