It seems like whenever I cut stock that is 3 quarters or thicker, my jigsaw makes a bevelled cut even though the blade is a 90 degrees. The blades are not bent.
Do I need a more rigid blade or something? It makes for a lot of sanding (which is my least favorite part of WW’ing) to get the edges back to square.
Thanks.

Yup, this is what happens with jigsaws. they really do not have a good enough blade guide system to keep them from flexing, especially with curves. Though I have read that someone, maybe Festool, has come out with a new model with multiple supports that is supposed to eliminate this flexing of the blade.
I don't think there are thicker blades really, probably all just about the same.
What brand is your saw?
Hi,
the Festool has the reputation for better straight cuts. This because of better blade guiding. My experience is that this is true, but only in combination with the special Festool blades. These are considerably thicker than typical standard blades (less bending) and are of high quality so probably stay sharp longer too. I'm talking about cuts of more than 1" - 3". But don't expect miracles doing curved cuts.
For cuts of 3/4" the standard blades normally work OK for me. Most standard blades dull quickly and then tend to wander more easily. Buy good quality and use a new one frequently. (I generally prefer Bosch blades).
Are you trying to use the jigsaw along a guide? This for me doesn't work at all, it's almost guaranteed to get a beveled cut in that way.

its the new bosch one - works great
