Im finally coming to the end of the tapered elliptical cylindar nightmare. The last thing is the drawer. My drawer front is a lamination of two 3/8″ bending ply, edgebanded in solid, and veneered inside and out in birdseye. A sliding dovetail seems the only way to attatch it to the drawer sides. Cutting the keyway for the dovetail on these curved tapered peices will be no picnic I’m sure. The drawer is not very deep so I don’t want to screw this onto solid piece with a curve matching the inside. Anybody lend some wisdom? Thanks

Oh, I forgot to mention that I can't just do half blind dovetails because the drawer front is "lipped"-the sides of the front are not square to the drawer sides.
*Jason,Bummer! Since you obviously will have to make a jig for this cut, wouldn't it be easier to rout a rabbet, then do half blind dove tails, or am I missing something?Dano
*Jason,This is how I see the solution to your problem. This is a VERY rough scketch.Dano
*It's kind of like shooting blindfolded, but if you lay the DF face up on your router table you should be able to use a dovetail bit to cut your tapered femailside. The length of your bit may big problem hear depending on ware you wont the sides of the drawer, but the slot will be at 90* to the DF. The male end will have two diferant shoulder hight's the shoulders will all so have to be angled to match the curve (easy on the outside not so easy on the in side. A saw cut mite remove most of the waste.
*as a last resort, hand cut dovetails?
