Hello, I am in the process of making the top for a jewelry box. After I glued the assembly, which has mitered corners with a panel, I realized that I assembled the two short sides out of order. Since the glue has set is there any way to undo the glued up joints to correct my mistake????????????? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great holiday!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corky the same thing happened to me when making jewlery boxes last year for Christmas.
I took the top to the router table and routered a 1/4" rebate in each corner and glued in a beautiful piece of dark contrasting wood. If necesary extend the 1/4" rout to each corner of the entire box.
The 1/4" accent strip breaks the continous grain so your design modification will not be noticed.
Good Luck

thanks
what wood? what kind of glue? a picture maybe?
sorry. but i think i will live with it the way it is
DeGlue-Goo would work, but you unless you live near a Woodcraft, not sure you could get it in time.
This is after the fact, but I always mark all pcs. A to A, B to B, etc. then dry clamp 'em.
Then when I unclamp I lay them as they" fall" out of the clamp.

I did the same once. If the top isn't on yet, try cutting at the mitered corners w/ a thin saw (Japanese), re-do the 45's. Box will be somewhat smaller but grain will match

Heat will soften the glue so that you can easily separate the parts. Turners do this often with glued up turning blanks by heating them in their microwave ovens. Use gloves so that you won't burn your hands and watch closely because when they start to get hot they are not far from burning.
