   Have you aligned the end of the fence cap to the edge of the sled as per page 9 of the manual in the section titled Fence Installation?

   My sled came assembled. Jointech told me it is factory calibrated. However, they also are telling me the leading edge of the fence, does not slide down the edge of the sled. But rather it follows a path where it is short of the sled edge at the up position and proud of the sled edge in the down position, and flush at about the 22.5 degree setting.

   This does not seem intuitively correct to me. I was advised to cut into the end cap and not worry about it. Have you cut into that plastic end cap or does your fence end follow the straight line of the edge of the sled?

    

   I will attempt to adjust the path until I don't have to cut into the fence end cap.

   I never meant to rag on them. I was asking for those who own/use a SmartMiter to reply with the way to calibrate it. The instruction did not clarify this.However, needs must. WHO NEEDS INSTRUCTIONS? I loosened the fence and through trial an error, achieved a much closer path to the edge of the sled. It falls a tad short, but in my opinion it was better than cutting the end of the fence off.I also bought a new Freud Fusion blade. It was much flatter than the 14 year old blade. So sled alignment was much easier.I invested several hours calibrating/aligning fence, tables and sled. When I get another opportunity, I will re-try the SmartMiter Fence Adjustment in effort to get the fence tip closer to the cut line.Anyone else who has one of these, please chime in.Greg••••••• Exo 35:30-35
