The Grizzly jointer compares to most in the 6" class. I got the Sunhill at $325. Love it. You might also consider these: Bridgewood and Yorkcraft. All considerably less than the Delta and Jet and get the same job done.

Which Grizzly 6" jointer? I like the 1182 which has a magnetic switch and your choice of hand wheels or levers.
