The outfeed table on my Geotec 8″ jointer will not stay put. My supplier cited backlash in the heighth adjustment & said to adust the heighth from the low position to the proper level. I’ve tried adjusting in both directions, tightening the securing screw firmly. After running sevreral feet of hardwood the out feed table moves slightly; sometimes up, somtimes down. Any suggestions?
Thanks

A Google search didn't turn up any reference to Geotec as a woodworking machine manufacturer. I'd like to see a picture of the machine, if possible, or get some technical information on it. Do you have any more information on the tool's manufacturer or possibly a web site?

Correction, sorry; The manufacturer is " Geetech ". The dealer is Sunhill Machinery.

I never received a reply.
Alfonso,
I'm sorry for not getting back to you, things are very busy right now and I don't have a system for keeping track of questions that need more work on them.
I went to the Sunhill web site, they make two jointers, one has lever adjusters for the height, the other has crank handles, which style machine do you have? It would be helpful to have the model number and serial number of your machine.
Also, take a look at the screw you turn to lock the table height. Is there any reason that it might not be pressing against the piece it is supposed to bear against when you tighten it? If the threaded part were too short for instance, the underside of the handle you turn might come up against the base casting without the end of the bolt pressing against the gib.
