I would like to buy a jointer. Should I get an 8″ or a 12″? The 12″ is about 3-4 times as much money. What brands do you recommend? I saw the Grizzly GO586 did the best in the review of 8″ jointers.
I am also looking at sanding machines. 24″ drum, variable speed. Is that a good size? Whats the best brand for the money? Is a wide belt sander worth the extra money, about double the price.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Obviously depends on what you are doing, what width of stock you normally work with. I have a 6", wish I had an 8". If I had an 8", I'd want a 12. Etc., etc., etc.. Your budget will dictate your final decision.
