Hello All,
Kind of a follow up to a prior discussion, but I am in need of some advice. I have just detected a problem with the outfeed table on my jointer. It is not flat and drops about 0.01″ from the cutterhead end to the outfeed end. What are my options, and is there anything that I can do to help. Thanks

You should be able to shim either it or the infeed table up to make them level. The exact technique to use depends on the design of the jointer.

saschafer- I don't think that I was clear about the specifics of the problem. The first half of the outfeed table is flat and I can get it to be in the same plane as the infeed table. Once you get about half way down the outfeed table it drops a total 0f 0.10" . So, at least in my confused mind, if I adjusted gibs or shimed the entire outfeed table to result in a coplanar surface (infeed and outfeed) relative to the back half of the outfeed, then the front half of that table would be obout 0.10" below the cutter head height. The thing is just not flat along it's surface. The fence and the infeed are perfect. It is a Jet JJ-6csx

Aha, so the table is warped. In that case, you can either try the "shock" treatment mentioned in the other thread, or else have the table reground. I think those are pretty much the only choices you have.
