Jointers-Powermatic54A vs General80-150L
I’m looking at the General 80-150L and the Powermatic 54A jointers. ThePowermatic has a 66″ table whereas the General is 55″. The General is a good bit less costly. Will I miss the table length?

Chuck,
I have a powermatic 54a, never looked at the General machine though.. I feel the 54a is the nicest built 6 inch joiner, with the long table length and good build quality.. $750 (us) seems to the going rate for the unit..
Got to tell you if I had to do it again I would buy a 8 inch joiner like the Bridgewood BW-8j or the Grizzly G0500 for nearly the same dollars, that extra 2 inch in width sure would come in handy..
Good luck..
