Just installed this Jorgensen on my new workbench……when the faces meet there is an almost ¼” gap at the top of the jaws. In other words they don’t meet flush. Did I do something wrong installing?

Yes, somethings not right. It's normal for vise jaws to be toed-in a little at the top, meaning the tops of the jaws meet before the bottoms do. You have the opposite. Hard to say what might be wrong without more mounting/installation details. Did the vise close properly before it was mounted?
Yeah, should be the other way so it flattens out as you crank down. I'd be surprised if there is an adjustment option, but if there is it is under the bench...maybe that cap head screw you can see in the photo?
Does it operate properly otherwise? Does it have the quick release feature?
Yes, it operates. Actually had to ask here on forum how to operate that feature-its a little tricky..
There is a part that comes out to swap it to non-quick release. Maybe that part is installed wrong?
I'll look at mine tomorrow. I have wooden jaws on both sides, so I'll have to see how the metal jaws would line up.
You could overcome that with your wooden jaws but, I would not want to. There must be a casting defect, no? I would want it exchanged.
