Hello Everyone, From the looks of all the messages in the Forum it looks as if your all keeping pretty busy, I just thought I’d pop in and let you all know whats been happening with this disease “Osteomilitus” thats nibbling on the inside of my spine. I just got back from the Pain Specialist this morning and he’s setting me up with a test that puts dye in my spine called a Mylogram. After the dye goes in then they take pics to see how advanced this stuff is. I almost cancelled my appointment becouse this last weeks been a pretty good one (Probably becouse the weather’s been good and the temps were in the 70’s.) I was able to get quite a few things that I’ve been wanting to do done.
I finished cleaning the shop and got the furnace cleaned and started for the winter and the kids and I got the mowers put away and the snow blower out (eeeeesh just the thought of the white stuff makes me cringe) But now the weather man’s saying its suppose to start getting colder this week so I suppose the old body will want to continue raising Havic again.
Well I best get going for now but I’ll try to keep in touch and let you all know whats happening. Also remember dont take your body and your health for granted becouse you only have the one so do the very best you can to take care of it. I’m having to find out the hard way how disapointing it is when the body starts to let you down and it seems to take ten times longer than usual to do a simple task.
Sincerely,
James C

Jim, thanks for keeping us posted -- glad you had such a productive week. May be the weather, may be the medication, or a combination of both!
Mommy Voice here: Do not cancel that appointment! You and the docs need to know where you're at physiologically. Take a deep breath and go :)
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)

Agree with FG. Do the appointment and stay busy all the time you can. I stay so busy I don't have any time to worry about anything. I have seen people retire and go nuts. I have also seen people retire and go back to work just for that reason.
Best wishes...

thanks for the post. keep in there and don't skip a step çause you're feeling good this week.
Remember the target is to get on top of the disease and then recuperate in the shop. Start planning that long put off masterpiece whilst you're waiting for the drugs to work !

Jim,
I'm glad your feeling better but stay up with what the doctor tells you. Take care and you will be back working in your shop in no time doing your best work.

DON'T CANCEL those appointments AND DON'T put off treatments just because you're "feeling pretty good" right now. If there are treatments, surgical or otherwise, you'll respond much quicker when you're in "feeling pretty good" mode than you will if you let it get really bad and it hurts too much to the physical therapy. Strengthen the muscles that support that spine and KEEP them strengthened! I'd be really surprised if initial therapy doesn't involve a significant amount of physical therapy to support those vertebrae and the joints in your hips and elsewhere. Glad you're doing so well! It's football time in Tennessee! Go Vols!!!!
