My Grandfather had a box of old tools…
Nothing much to cheer about, but in the box was an old hand plane.
After some research…I’ve determined that it is a Keen Kutter No5.
The frog is incomplete….
There is no lateral adjuster….
Can I replace the frog with anything?
Everything else is in good shape….
I sharpened the blade and it makes beautiful shavings, but will not adjust easily….
I would like to use this plane in my shop.
Just not sure if the frog can be replaced with something current?

Yep...thanks!!!
Already looked in to that, just wasn't sure if any other No5 frogs would fit.
Apparently these are the predecessors to the Stanley Bedrocks...
Is it K5 or KK5?
If it's the single K that's the ones made from the early bedrock molds! Double KK is not the same
Yes...K5
