Hi, Swack, Take a look at Taunton's book called: Plans and complete instructions for building nine classic beds. I have it and am in the final stages of building a king sized bed myself...while I did not use any of the plans in the book it gives lots of useful information.
You may be able to pick it up at Border's, but you can also order it from Taunton for about $25. It's a keeper. Lofton
