Kitchen cabinet doors need protection from slides…need recommendations!
Greetings and almost Happy New Year!
I’ve recently remodeled our kitchen, and built pull-out drawers in all the lower cabinets, eleven in total. While the drawers work great, I find that if the drawer is not fully pushed in before the door is closed, the door tends to be dinged up by the front of the drawer slide. I’ve included a photo of the area of the slide that is causing the misdemeanor. I’m looking for recommendations on how to best prevent the doors from being damaged, and I’m going to assume the user will not make sure the drawer is fully pushed in before trying to close the door. I’ve done some research and the best I can come up with is these plastic drawer bumpers from Bainbridge. What other ideas have you guys?
Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. I solved it by using some short lengths of 1/4" neoprene or pex tubing about the same length as the metal tab at the end of the drawer slide. Slit the tube lengthwise and fill it with E6000 glue. Slip the tube over the tab and let the glue dry. The glue will adhere to the metal tab and give the tube something to hold onto. Mine have been that way for about a year and have done a good job.
Also, if you can move the slides back on the drawer side about 1/2-3/4", you can then glue a small block in front of that tab that does the scratching. Round over the edge of the block and apply some cushioning like cork, felt, etc. That works well also.
Thanks for ideas, I'll totally think about this, and I have a fresh tube of E6000 :)
