Any opinions on what to use to remove kitchen grime from cabinets without hurting the finish. Bought a house and want to clean cabinets then use paste wax on them.
Any thoughts?

Try using Trisodium Phosphate (TSP). Can find it at most hardware stores. Will help get off grease and grime and shouldn't affect the finish.
Grease and oils often become incorporated into the finish with the result that the finish becomes softened and sticky. This will be noticeable around handles and pulls. If this is the case, any cleaning will end up removing those areas of the finish also. Only catalyzed lacquer, because of its almost indestructible nature, will be resistant to both the oils and your cleaning. You can also try turpentine. I've had better luck with it than TSP.
Thanks
TSP is a good place to start.
Krud Kutter. You need a degreaser.
