I’m starting a new project………. a kitchen island. The island consists of two cabinets and a slightly longaded wine rack ( L shaped ) If anyone has experience in building either wine racks or islands please don’t hesitate to inform me ……… even with the most obvious !! thank’s

Simplist wine rack is a series of open cubes (for 1 bottle per cube), a bit more elaborate is turning the cubes 45* and having a diamond shape. The diamond shape can be larger than the cubes and you can stack the wine in them.

either of these types could be incorporated into your island.

ryan Woodsmith had a plan for a wine rack in issue 157 Feb 2005 my wife wants one for the new kitchen it is a cool plan with wine glass storage

Ryan, here a pic of an island I have in my showroom. It's about 10' long with very rustic French oak top. The cabinet part is painted soft maple. The diagonal wine racks are a PITA but they look nice I think.
