Does anyone have plans or design pictures of a bench appropriate for use at a kitchen table? My wife wants me to build a bench for our kitchen table and I am having trouble locating design ideas or plans for this type of bench.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Seeing a picture of you table would help.
Sacker8472,
I don't have any plans, but basically, mine is a church pew. Solid two inch thick ends with a dado to accept the shaped seat, a rabbit for the back and a top rail on the back that is tenoned into the ends also.
Thank you for your responses.
Attached (I hope) are some pictures of the kitchen table. I hope these help you get a sense of what I am after. I would like a bench with no back that can slide under the table when not in use.
Here's what I would do. Make another table like the one you have.. dimensioned down to a bench.
Rockler sells turned legs of all lengths.. including some just 18" high that are close enough to the ones on your table.
Your table looks to be constructed of pine or oak timbers which are easy to acquire. All you need is three, five inch boards about four feet long. Glue 'em up.. build yourself a leg/apron assembly and attach the top. If you're buying rough lumber, get 5/4.. if not, get 3/4, S4S.
Match the stain and...
You've got yourself a bench!

I edited my previous post regarding the length of the legs you can get online or through the Rockler catalog. They are 18 inches.. not 13 (which would be too short).. but I'm not sure the edit made it before the message was emailed to you.
The Rockler legs have a 5" post.. perfect for mortising.
