I’ve always used a biscuit jointer to assemble face frames for cabinets. I’ve seen work pros have done using a Kreg jig. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding this type of device? I’d like to get one that is simple to use but does a pro job!

Spoke w/ a tech at Kreg. They are coming out w/ a new model that basically works like the CMT pocket hole jig which will allow different depth settings in increments of 1/8".The undisciplined life is not worth examining.
wish i would have bought it earlier. one of the best products i have. get the kit with all the different pocket hole jigs. do not forget to the the right angle clamp. worth the 30 bucks. i also have the face frame clamp. it fits in the pocket on a router table.

I've got the Kreg and picked up the CMT. Personally, I prefer the CMT for the work I do. I primarily use it for face frames and nailers on cabinet backs.
Both are good systems.
Hi Craig, what is a CMT?
Dave
CMT is a brand of blades, router bits, etc, made in Italy, they are orange. I got mine from sommerfield tools at a show, but they are available through alot of dealers. I think the link is cmtusa.com

Hi Dave,
Do you have a Woodcraft store in your area.I just recieved there new flyer on Friday and in my area, Madison Wisconsin, They are going to have a KREG K2000 Propack Demo on June 12. If you have one of these stores near by it would be fun to check it out. http://www.woodcraft.com Have a good day . Rick
Thank you for the tip. We do have one in San Diego.
Dave
thanks for the info. I have been to woodcraft 2 times today. my wife thinks I am having an affair with the wood in the store.

David,
There is truth to that . A man or woman never gets tired of good wood. My darling Inga heads to the fabric store on one end of the mall and I head to the wood store. She always ends up looking for me. Go figure. Rick
