Krenov music stand in Sketchup
For your interest and entertainment, I am attaching a Sketchup model, just a rough beginning, of my favorite James Krenov work, a folding two-sided music stand.
I began it using photo-match, but digressed a little. If you know the piece, and are a Sketchup user, please go ahead and finish it if you want, and post back here when done.
The piece is shown in Krenov’s 1979 book, The Impractical Cabinetmaker. The book photos show the stand, done in 1977, in pearwood.
The photo used for the match is of a second one Krenov did in oak. He rarely repeated any of his works, so he either really liked this one, or had a commission from someone who wanted a copy badly.
The original pearwood stand has the lattice slats horizontal, which I greatly prefer to the vertical slats he did in the later oak version. The horizontal slats and their spacing mimic the lines in a music score.

Use this SU model instead. I spent some more time detailing it. It is still not complete.
I need to get the legs a little slimmer, while stil retaining the x-section at top and bottom.
