   I think Jacob's Ladder is a more common name for the toy you describe. A free how-to article can be found at

   Hello,

   Yes, the picture you attached is exactly what I am looking for.  I have seen plans online, but they were around $12.  For that price, I'd rather spend a few buck more and find a book with this and other projects.

   Did you find those plans in a book or magazine?

   Hello,

   I checked the Shopsmith archives online.  They go back to 2000 and I didn't see it there.  I will contact them tomorrow to see if they have earlier issues available.  If you do find it, I very much appreciate at least the issue date so I can hunt it down a little easier.

   I built something like this

   several years ago, only with two ladders side by side.  That way two kids can have races. :-)
