I need some help here. I a buying my first sliding table saw, upgrading from a Uni-saw. I am on the fence between the Laguna PP18 and the Felder K700S-PLUS. Both saws look good. I like the fence on the Laguna better but the warranty on the Felder is longer. I have been able to get the same price on both saws.
I run small cabinet making company with multiple workers. I want to keep this saw for a long time.
Any suggestions?

Product Over Warranty
Oh what the heck. I 'll talk with you until some one who runs a commercial shop comes along.
I was going to say Felder because they seem to be even a grade up from Laguna. But since you like the fence better that is what counts because both are such high end machines and if you , and/or your workers will gain in pleasure of use and efficiency from the fence then that is an every day benefit.
I have a home shop, or one man shop, grade Laguna bandsaw and am totally happy with it. It has a commercial grade Baldor motor so even better for me.
I have never had to warranty any of my power tools. I buy good design and pay more for that and learn all I can about set up and use and do not abuse my tools. If you and your workers do this then I would think warranty would probably not be an issue in the long run.
In the short term both saws are warranted and any big problems will show up early and be covered.
PS: here is a little "cute" story . . . when I was a little kid, I don't know, about ten or so I got all excited about having my own power drill. I rode my bike down to the big Sears store because everybody knows Sears Craftsman tools are the "best" right ? I looked them all over for what must have been a disturbing amount of time for the sales staff (well is he going to steal something or buy something or what ?).
Finally I told the man I wanted to buy a drill and pointed it out to him. He tried to talk me into buying a higher priced drill. I was buying the basic single speed but a Craftsman, not the also ran they sell at Sears.
His argument was "you don't want that basic one ; it will burn up on ya" . I said " it is covered by the life time sears warranty isn't it ?" He said it was. I said "fine then, if it burns up I will be back to see you ".
You know what ? I still have that little drill. There were times when I was using it daily working steel. I tend to get out about five drills and chuck bits or hole deburers etc into each one and go to town.
That drill still works great after about forty years. When it starts to squeal I pull it apart and put some oil in the bearings (bronze oil light on one end and cartridge ball bearing on the other ). Still haven't burned it up or used the warranty.
I wonder if they would still honor it.
Ha ha ha
