Is Lagunas re-saw blade at $1.50 per inch really worth it? I would be happy to lay down the cash for a blade that saves time and lasts through a significant amount of lumber. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks FWW Army,
Sean

Hey Sean i use laguna blades. And i like them. The first couple i bought i did not keep the tires clean and guides close. And got some funny wear from the bands. But the three i have now track well.I think one has been resharpend five times.I use my blades on woods like ebony maple etc.Hope this helps.
Sean:
I am a little embarrassed to tell you this (read on). Long story short, get the Laguna, you won't be disappointed.
My Laguna 16 HD was delivered with a 1" blade, along with three other blades in a box (1/4". 1/2" and 1"). Since my main need was to re-saw some 12/4 cherry, I set the machine up and have been using it for about a year with the original blade in situ. Although, I have been happy with the results, I had a problem with some large cedar so I changed to the blade to one that was in the unopened box.
The difference was absolutely astonishing. The blade went through like butter leaving an edge nearly as smooth as a table saw. It makes the first blade look like a piece of crap.
My original deal with Laguna was that they would provide their blades, but I have no idea what the installed blade was. Anyway, I don't think you will regret it.
Now you know why I feel a little stupid!
Regards,
Hastings
