I have a 5 year old LT-18. Both the LT and MM are about the same quality. I don't think one is any better than the other. The primary difference is the guides. If you want ceramic guides, choose the Laguna. If you want the European guides, choose the MM. Laguna now puts Baldor motors on their saws. I don't know what MM uses on theirs. Whichever you choose, I suspect you will be more than satisfied.
