I hate to even broach the subject but…
I’m planning the big bandsaw purchase, and am pulling out my imaginary hair trying to figure out the best way to go.
Budget? Approximately $3,000.00 (she says “no more than 3,000, but i think i could scrape together some of my allowance money if i had to)
Use? Resawing, resawing and resawing…in fact,I didn’t know there were any other uses for a bandsaw. are there?
Phase? single is fine, but I do have a converter if needed.
Specifically, I’m looking for input from folks who’ve used the bigger Laguna and Minimax machines such as the Resaw Master and the MM24 (although the resaw capacity seems pretty limited vs the Laguna’s) or if you haven’t used them… any links to info would be greatly appreciated.
I’m an occasional poster on “Breaktime,” but this is my first post on Knots… I look forward to many more.
Thanks a bunch guys.

I have an Agazanni 28in (Eagle EuroSaw in USA?) with a power feeder. Bought this after looking at SCM/Centauro, ACM (Laguna), Agazanni (Eagle), Steton, Meber, Felder and a couple of others. I honestly don't think there is much in it, it is a matter of price, personal preference and support (i.e. spares). There are minor variations in guides, etc. The 28in Aggy has 16in under the guides and fitted as it is with a power feeder/roller fence combo and normally with Lenox Trimaster TCT blades (3/4 or 1-1/4in) - this machine can slice 0.7mm thick veneers off 12in oak, consistently and relatively smoothly
As to other uses, I have started sawing hardwood frame components for upholstery, that needs just 4 or 5in under the guides.

Hello,
I only have a Laguna Lt 16, but I would recommend you check out the used tool dealers and look for a 30 to 36 in cast iron American made saw. There are plenty of them out there in your price range. If bigger is better, a 36" that is almost 8'tall would fit the bill.

look on each website they have videos they will send you to compare.
I looked into the laguna and like what i see.
