I have the PC557 plate joiner and have been dissatisfied with the accuracy of the slots that it cuts. On the positive side, it does have excellent dust collection. I have found that no matter how carefully I cut the slots, there is still a disagreeable misalignment of the boards that I am joining.
Rather than waste any more time on the PC557, I am considering buying either the Lamello Classic at ~$350 or the Lamello Top 20S at ~$600.
My question is, “What features does the Top 20S have that the Classic does not?”
Thanks.

From an amazon review:
Key feature of the Top20 is that the blade position relative to the base can be adjusted by means of a +/- dial just ahead of the top handle. This vastly increases speed and accuracy in production situations where the machine is used off its base, and not its fence.
My additional comment: the Classic has a swiveling front with notches at angles 22.5, 45 and 67.5 degrees but does not have the scale in degrees of the Top20. No big deal if you have a protractor.
I have been using the Classic for a couple of years as a hobbyist and I love it.

dont know what the pc 557 looks like but i have the new pc buiscuit joiner that looks like a grinder with a fancy fence system and its great
Buy the best Lamello they make and don't look back. I've an older model Lamello. If it broke tomorrow, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
Hi !!
I use the Lamello Classic. The notches mentioned by Eric is very accurate like all other aspects of this machine. Classic comes with a 705 W motor Top20 S2 with a 500 W, otherwise as mentioned above.
