I have a torch-heated branding iron of my signature for signing my work (with adjustable year numbers). It’s fun. But now I’m doing more smaller stuff and turnings where there’s no flat surface. There are now fairly affordable small laser engravers out there that look like they could work on somewhat uneven surfaces. Anyone try these, or something similar? Or other ideas? I’ve been trying a woodburning tool, but it looks sloppy. And ink often runs. And I’m a gadget guy and I’m sure I’d find other uses for the laser. And who doesn’t want a laser, right?

I'm curious to see responses. What I use are a few steel stamps I had custom made. A couple for long grain and a couple for endurance. No heating, just pound into the wood. They will make any design you want into hardened O-1 steel.
I am curious, too. I want to buy it but first of all, I need to read some real reviews about it, if it worths money or not.
I use a pencil just prior to applying finish. Cost approx 5c
- Don't let YouTube "woodworkers" influence you that much. Also, fun fact, none of your tools need to be 'red'…
