Here’s a couple of pics of my latest project. It’s an adaptation of a #225 Stickley settle from Lang’s shop drawings of Craftsman furniture. My friend who asked me to build it is going to do the upholstery. It’s my 4th project since starting this hobby in March. I had been wanting to get into woodworking for years, but never had the time. Then we had the covid19 and I got my chance.

Walnut and maple. The woman for whom I made it chose the woods. I liked the maple/ walnut mix, but I might have used all maple on the slats if it were mine.
I agree that all-maple slats may have been more slick looking, but it is still a very nice piece. Are the arm rests made of maple or walnut...or cherry?
