Greetings!
I don't know about the 6" dia legs. I have a Mini Max duplicating lathe. It has a double blade and moves on a wheel driven carriage. It cuts from square to round on the first blade following is an opening for the new size of your turned diameter which holds it steady while another blade follows the pattern, a real object or a profile pattern so that it does it all in one pass. It takes a while to set up and is most useful if doing a run so that your are doing your duplicate cuts at the same time- ie legs, then rungs, cutting them at double length so that one pass provides two rungs, etc.
I especially like it for cutting hickory spindles for the back of the chairs as it has the best steady rest of any duplicating lathe I have seen. But it is a bit pricey at that.
Enjoy the anticipation.

Greetings! You may go to the website http://www.minimax-usa.com/lathes and see it. This is a newer model as I purchased mine in 1994. I see this one is shown with a safety shield which did not come with mine. Also, my price was about $2500 plus a couple options I got such as a cutting blade for small diameter turnings and a ball bearing unit for the tail end of a spindle. Also mine is green in color rather than white.
You can get a good view of the copying equipment. I saw it demonstrated at the bi-annual Atlanta GA woodworking machines show. The demo person was cutting rather complex shapes on the spindle combining square and round sections on the finished spindle.
Hope this helps.
