I’m restoring an 18th century foot operated wood lathe and need a leather drive belt, about 3-1/2″ wide and about 9 feet long. Anybody know where to find one? Pete

I would try a horse saddle shop. They might be able to get you in touch with someone who can make one for you
You might try asking at http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/ubbs/Ultimate.cgi Quite a few of the guys there either own or have worked with flat belt driven machinery. You do have to register to post there.
Check with a dealer of used farm machinery.

This is where I got mine from a few years ago....probably still sell them.
