Hi all, I’ve bought some Lee Valley panel clamps and beford I use whatever timber I’ve got around the place I thought I’d see whether anyone else has used them and what wood they used. I thought quarter sawn beech for price and stability in the workshop. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Roger |

Roger,
If my memory serves me correct, those are similar to the clamps woodcraft sells, which I have 4 of. I used 8/4 quartersawn oak, flatsawn will work, just turn the squares 90 degrees and 2 faces should be quartersawn. I absolutely love mine, glued up a 35" wide cherry tabletop about 68" long a few months back and only needed a light sanding with the RO sander to flatten. Good luck,
Lee
Thanks Lee.
